Nemours, the former 300 acre estate of Alfred I. duPont, and named after the duPont ancestral home in north central France.  The Mansion, built in 1909, is fashioned after a Louis XVI French château.  The mansion’s  102 rooms  is furnished with fine period antiques, rare oriental rugs, tapestries and paintings dating back as far as the 15th century.  The garden’s design was influenced by duPont’s many trips to Europe and include natural woodlands and an extensive French Garden.  Guided tours are the only way guests are able to see the house and grounds.
